The Penn Band and its Seniors


On the 57th day of 2022, I found myself in the Palestra (for the last time until the basketball seasons start back up again in the Fall).  And I could not possibly have missed this afternoon's game because the Penn Band Seniors, Class of 2022, were honored for their years of service.  My Two for 2022 are The Penn Band and its Seniors.  These students arrived on campus in Fall 2018, had one "normal" academic year and then all h$$$ broke lose in March of 2020.  I am so glad that they got to travel away to Brown last weekend (what a buzzer beater win!) and that the Men's Team made the Ivy Tournament (more travel) and there is a trip to Princeton coming up this weekend.  These students have dedicated so much to the Band and, basically, kept it together as a group through the pandemic.  SO, THANK YOU to: Liam, Justin, Sam, Isabel, Landon, Charlotte, Helen, Jessica, Bryan, Leah, Andy, Caitlin, Josh, David, Anjali, Iman, Alan, Lisa, Sean, Cezanne, Naomi, Morgan, James, Leah, Maharani, Jenna, Alexander, Lexi, Adam, Noah, Angela, Ben, John, Miles, Elizabeth, Sophie, and Angie!

Facebook and Memories

  I know a lot of people who have given up on Social Media.  And, yes, I concur that the FB business model is filled with issues and shadiness.  But, on a rough day at work on 4/20/2022, I looked at my FB feed and a memory came up that made me beam with joy.  You all probably can see the memory below, on the 110th day of 2022, of when Alexa hit two homeruns in a softball game and Sarah got them both on video and Collingswood won 13-7.  Well, it was not a lot, but it got me through today with a smile on my face.  So I have thanks for my two for 2022 for tonight, Facebook and Memories.  Days like today are what keep me on the platform (well that and my need for this nightly reflection!)  Good Night all and may your memories be happy!

UD and Family Weekend

What a day the 274th day of 2022 has been.  Started off, where Anna was LAST year at the PTA Mum Sale for Collingswood High School.  A cold and wet sale that, although it did not sell as many we had hope we would, but the teamwork, camaraderie, and good humor amongst the myriad of volunteers made the time go fast (except for 7-9AM :-) ).  THEN, it was on to where Anna is now, and the Two for 2022 for 10/1/2022: UD and Family Weekend!  The Delaware Football Team won and is 5-0.  We got to see Kassidy and the Presses, I finally got to see Anna's dorm room (it looks really nice!), meet Anna's roommates, and check out the campus when students are actually present.  And we capped off the evening with some shopping, and dinner, at the Christiana Mall.  Anna seems to be really enjoying her time at UD and I am proud of her for her hard work and pursual of a career in K-6 education.  It was also really neat to see Family Weekend from another side, at a dif...
