Chris and Jackie

 


The 229th day of 2022 found us out to dinner for the second night in a row.  No, that is not my two for 2022 for 8/17/2022, but it is related as my 2 fer are the company with whom we were dining (just as it was last night), Chris and Jackie.  When we moved to Oaklyn in 2005, it was so we could be closer to Sarah's brother and his family.  Throughout the ensuing years, we have been so blessed to have the support, advice, and company of these two wonderful humans.  Godparents to our children, and in every sense of the word.  Companions to sporting events, community events, volunteer events.  Carpooling, and emergency rides, watching our pets and watching our children.  SO many family meals filled with no just amazing food, but also laughter, joy, and love.  I am not sure how I would have made it as a parent, no, as a human, in the last two decades without the love and support of Jackie and Chris.  And, tonight, as we celebrated Jackie's birthday belatedly and Sarah's birthday early, it made me smile, just as this picture above does.  I have loved every moment with these two and look forward to many more moments in the future.  Life is changing, but our familial linkage and love is forever!

Facebook and Memories

  I know a lot of people who have given up on Social Media.  And, yes, I concur that the FB business model is filled with issues and shadiness.  But, on a rough day at work on 4/20/2022, I looked at my FB feed and a memory came up that made me beam with joy.  You all probably can see the memory below, on the 110th day of 2022, of when Alexa hit two homeruns in a softball game and Sarah got them both on video and Collingswood won 13-7.  Well, it was not a lot, but it got me through today with a smile on my face.  So I have thanks for my two for 2022 for tonight, Facebook and Memories.  Days like today are what keep me on the platform (well that and my need for this nightly reflection!)  Good Night all and may your memories be happy!

UD and Family Weekend

What a day the 274th day of 2022 has been.  Started off, where Anna was LAST year at the PTA Mum Sale for Collingswood High School.  A cold and wet sale that, although it did not sell as many we had hope we would, but the teamwork, camaraderie, and good humor amongst the myriad of volunteers made the time go fast (except for 7-9AM :-) ).  THEN, it was on to where Anna is now, and the Two for 2022 for 10/1/2022: UD and Family Weekend!  The Delaware Football Team won and is 5-0.  We got to see Kassidy and the Presses, I finally got to see Anna's dorm room (it looks really nice!), meet Anna's roommates, and check out the campus when students are actually present.  And we capped off the evening with some shopping, and dinner, at the Christiana Mall.  Anna seems to be really enjoying her time at UD and I am proud of her for her hard work and pursual of a career in K-6 education.  It was also really neat to see Family Weekend from another side, at a dif...
