Time Earned and Time Off

 


So, first let me apologize because, on 9/16/2022 I realized I have not made a daily post since 9/11.  And that is because the 259th day of 2022 was the end of another week of excessive, oppressive workload at work.  I am VERY BAD at setting boundaries and I really want, so badly, for things to go well and everyone to be happy that I know I have been spending too much time online and not enough time on other facets of my life.  Well, today it was better (NOT GREAT, but better) because I took PTO from work (yes, I still did a training session I had committed too and hopped on a few critical calls).  But I spent a considerable time not online and I had a pizza dinner with my wife and we started to watch one NCIS which turned into FIVE NCISes (Season 9's ending was a doozy, folks).  And, tomorrow, the system is down for an upgrade so I can go to Penn's first Football game and enjoy myself without worrying.  Yes, my Two for 2022 is Time Earned and Time Off.  I have to pledge to do better.  I DO care about my work and my tasks, but I need to do a better job caring about other things too.  GOODNIGHT all!

Facebook and Memories

  I know a lot of people who have given up on Social Media.  And, yes, I concur that the FB business model is filled with issues and shadiness.  But, on a rough day at work on 4/20/2022, I looked at my FB feed and a memory came up that made me beam with joy.  You all probably can see the memory below, on the 110th day of 2022, of when Alexa hit two homeruns in a softball game and Sarah got them both on video and Collingswood won 13-7.  Well, it was not a lot, but it got me through today with a smile on my face.  So I have thanks for my two for 2022 for tonight, Facebook and Memories.  Days like today are what keep me on the platform (well that and my need for this nightly reflection!)  Good Night all and may your memories be happy!

UD and Family Weekend

What a day the 274th day of 2022 has been.  Started off, where Anna was LAST year at the PTA Mum Sale for Collingswood High School.  A cold and wet sale that, although it did not sell as many we had hope we would, but the teamwork, camaraderie, and good humor amongst the myriad of volunteers made the time go fast (except for 7-9AM :-) ).  THEN, it was on to where Anna is now, and the Two for 2022 for 10/1/2022: UD and Family Weekend!  The Delaware Football Team won and is 5-0.  We got to see Kassidy and the Presses, I finally got to see Anna's dorm room (it looks really nice!), meet Anna's roommates, and check out the campus when students are actually present.  And we capped off the evening with some shopping, and dinner, at the Christiana Mall.  Anna seems to be really enjoying her time at UD and I am proud of her for her hard work and pursual of a career in K-6 education.  It was also really neat to see Family Weekend from another side, at a dif...
